The prison has become a theme park in late capitalist society. We are obsessed with images and experiences of incarceration in the form of historical and working prison tours, dungeon theme parks, art exhibitions and documentaries. This is an attempt to document some of these.
The irony of academic-cum-tourist indulging in an obscene fascination with the exoticised, transgressive other under the guise of meaningful social critique is not lost here.
